Health is paramount, and first aid is crucial. The more people equipped with professional first aid knowledge and skills, the less chances of preventable casualties in emergency situations. In order to provide everyone with a platform to learn and understand first aid knowledge, the Medical and Health Education Office, the Student Affairs Office, and the UIC Medical Health Volunteer Service Team have jointly organized a First Aid Skills Competition! Whether you possess first aid knowledge or not, this event is suitable for you. Come and join us to challenge and win great prizes!

Event Date: May 18th - 19th

Event Time: 16:00-19:00

Event Venue: Hui Xian Village Square (located downstairs of the Joyful Plaza)

I. Event Rules

The event will feature four major areas: Knowledge Quiz Area, Bandaging Skills Area, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Area, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Operation Experience Area.

Knowledge Quiz Area: Consists of 10 multiple-choice questions, 10 true/false questions, and 1 matching question. For every 5 correct answers in multiple-choice and true/false questions, participants will receive 1 stamp, while 1 stamp will be awarded for a correct match in the matching question.

Bandaging Skills Area: Involves 4 bandaging tasks. Participants will earn 2 stamps for independently completing each task and 1 stamp will be awarded by staff after teaching and finalizing each task.

CPR Area: Multiple scoring points will be set up, with deductions applied for mistakes. Excellent performance will earn 5 stamps.

AED Operation Experience Area: Participants will receive 1 stamp upon completion under device guidance.

II. Competition Prizes

The competition includes 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 4 third prizes. Additionally, all participants have the chance to win checkpoint prizes. After the event, the number of stamps collected by each participant will be tallied, and prizes will be sent via email to the winners.

Third Prize: Emergency First Aid Kit
